Album of the Week #1
by Cooper Richards-Hancock
To introduce the beginning of our 'Album of the Week' series, we thought we'd give a nod to a sequel to one of our favourite albums of 2024, Baby Bruh's the exact length of a piece of string II. the exact length of a piece of string was a show of Chester's (aka Baby Bruh) ability in both beatmaking and barspitting, and ELOAPOS II expands on these abilities, whilst bringing together a community of creatives from across Newcastle's music scene, or is referenced thoughout the album "My Rap Scene".
Title's are long, closer to that of a diary entry than track titles (a personal favourite of mine being dm for swag and self expression advice, also my PSN is bigboybabybruh, i'm mostly playing bloodborne but add me anyway (FREESTYLE)) with nicknames for each at the end, giving a little insight to the mind of Baby Bruh. More Mellow at times than ELOAPOS, BB plays as a host to the extensive list of collaborators here. If you're familiar with some of his previous work, than it's no surprise that Taki and Aquinas pop up frequently, but some surprises are here, with Gargoylar of Poltergeist 9000, Yev Kasssem (on beats), Dobbie, e4444e, Banjo Ulysses, Paintball Entrance, Baby Jack, toluene dream, sinkholecrim, 198archie, grace, jimr3xy, The MoC, Dirt Music, Jester's Delights, Cartographer's Delights, and lilezymart all making an appearance.
Baby Bruh's the exact length of a piece of string II is packed to the brim smooth beats, witty bars, and a love of Newcastle and the local scene.
